Dr. Roger Wilkins

: He was washing his hands after a surgery. A few choice words were being muttered under his breath as he walked out of the trauma OR. More soldiers were being returned from the front in bad shape every day. He rarely left his office now. A cot had been put along the wall to the right of his desk. No one asked about it. They simply accepted that the Doctor had taken up residence on the floor. Once he put his coat back on, he headed past his office towards the cafeteria. His hands were in his pockets, his head down. He was never the most chatty of individuals. Most couldn't get 2 words from him other than a brisk hello. Why bother learning faces when they never seemed to live that long anyway? An injury had taken him out of being a combat medic so now he resided here. In Central.

says to Military Intelligenc: He glanced up at the ever cheerful and slightly infamous Maes Hughes. "Lieutenant." He greeted with a nod. The lack of answer in saving lives should speak for itself as he continued towards the cafeteria. Of course, Maes would not be deterred so easily. "Any word on when this fracus will end?" He finally asked since Maes wasn't going to leave him be to enjoy his lunch in peace. The tone he carried bore the weight of exhaustion both physically and mentally. When they walked into the cafeteria, he headed towards the fruit counter and grabbed himself a few pieces of fruit that disappeared into his pockets, undoubtedly to cache for later in his office. Then he headed towards the hot food. None of it appealed, so he finally required a nice club sandwich be made. No fries. No sides. Just the sandwich. Once he got it, he sat down in a quiet corner. Well... quiet apart from the Lieutenant shadowing him.

says to --The Doctor Is In--: Grinning, he followed the doctor into the cafeteria and watched the fruit get put away. Feeling slightly hungry himself, he grabbed a bit of hot food, noticing it was not the most appealing, but what can you do? It was the military and not known for the most appealing food, even in Central. He had also grabbed some fruit on principal since with the good doctor. Following along again behind the good doctor, he sat down, noting the sandwich and only the sandwich for the doctor. He raised an eyebrow but decided to start with remarking on his plate instead. “Be better if my dear wife had packed me a meal, but I’ll get her cooking soon enough tonight. You are sounding tired. You know the best thing to help with that is to get a wife and family.” He grinned, keeping his cover for now while he took a bite of what he came to find out was mystery meat with gravy on it and potatoes on the side. He chewed, pondering what the good doctor had asked and grinned a little while adjusting his glasses. “No word yet, though with the Flame Alchemist at the front it does help limit our casualties. You do have hopefully fewer from his area than others?” Maes takes a good long look at the doctor and settles in to wait him out.

says to Military Intelligenc: The Doctor paused in eating his sandwich to look up at Maes. "You know who was brought into my clinic son..." Which means he knew that another State Alchemist had been hurt badly enough to be brought back. "I hope your friend out there can handle the burden being put on his shoulders..." He sighed, then offered half of his sandwich to Maes. After all, what the Lieutenant had chosen didn't look too appealing. "As for wife and kids... sonny I dont have the time for that." He laughed softly. "What kind of life would be for a wife who has a husband who never comes home hmmm? Be glad yours gets you home every night. Not all soldiers get that luxury." Maybe he was a little salty at the amount of casualties. Maybe he felt if he was out there he could do more, but Central grounded him several years ago. He adjusted his glasses on his nose.
"I'm just hopin that no more get brought in tonight. My poor team has barely gotten a wink of sleep lately." Everyone in the hospital ward knew that Wilkins hand picked team were diehard loyals to the Doctor because he took care of them as best he could. Bonuses that secretly came out of his own salary. Days off when he never asked his own bosses... just made up reasons why they weren't seen that day. Perfectly believable lies. Surely they knew the Doctor covered for his team, but it hadn't become enough of an issue to press him on it. "Speaking of..." He checked his watch. "You're only a few hours from going home arent you?"

says to --The Doctor Is In--: Maes takes the offered half of a sandwich. Grins and nods to the good doctor. He takes a bite, looking relieved it was so much better than what he was eating before. He chewed thoughtfully while taking in what the doctor had talked about. He knew about the bonuses and the staff that would “mysteriously” not be around at specific times for specific reasons. He also knew that the doctor’s team was one of the hardest working teams out there. He put the half of a sandwich down and took a good long look at the doctor. His face looked serious for a second before he grinned. “Yes, my wife is very lucky but she also has to deal with me being out and about at all hours and not knowing what I do specifically a lot of the time. It is for the best that she doesn’t have all the information since you know how intelligence is these days. Got to keep looking for the facts to try and get a head of our enemies.” He sounded cheerful, but he knew to keep up appearances while especially in headquarters. “Too bad more can’t enjoy the benefits that I enjoy. It helps reset after the long hard days of dealing with the horrors of war. Sometimes she even arranges to meet me just briefly outside with our little girl so that she can pass off some food to me and I get the pleasure of seeing my little family.”
He picks up the sandwich, taking another bite and chewing while pondering what the good doctor had revealed about the latest body to his table. “Mustang is a hardworking alchemist. He knows how to work hard and keep his head down when necessary. His troops are some of the better ones we have out there. Who did we loose though?” He kept his tone curious though he knew it was important to figure out just how screwed the efforts were currently in the latest conflicts with the enemy.

Written on it was The Shockwave Alchemist. Lt. Col. Richard Hartman Jr. Which meant his daughter, Kallista, was likely still out in the field. Stepping into her fathers role likely. But could the Earth Alchemist handle what the Shockwave Alchemist couldnt? The Doctor didnt seem bothered.
